Outer Casings are designed to provide protection and support for the Inner Drive Core. Flexible Drive and Tool can offer a variety of sizes in a variety of materials, depending on the final application. A typical high power Outer Casing will be constructed from reinforced, bonded neoprene or natural rubber with a spring steel liner. Other materials include PVC and Polyurethane, both with a steel/stainless steel liner. We are also able to offer reinforced rubber casings without the need for a steel liner, offering the benefit of high durability with good flexibility and low weight. Where a solution is not immediately at hand, Flexible Drive and Tool are able to design and manufacture new casings to fit your application.

The Company story began in the late 1920s in London selling imported descaling units. The business grew rapidly and new premises were needed in South Kensington in the 1940s. Manufacture of Flexible Drive products started at this time and was combined with a collect and repair service for flexible shafts in the London area.
